Jackson & Attiya | Saint Petersburg Sailboat Elopement

An Intimate Sailboat Elopement in the Heart of Saint Pete

As a Saint Pete wedding photographer and Saint Pete elopement photographer, I’ve witnessed countless love stories, but Jackson and Attiya’s sailboat elopement stands out as a powerful reminder of resilience, adaptability, and the beauty of intimate celebration. Their journey, shaped by the unprecedented challenges of 2020, is a testament to the enduring power of love-even in the face of uncertainty.

Jackson and Attiya, two dedicated medical students from Tampa, had meticulously planned their wedding for May 9th, 2020. With graduation and a move to Washington, D.C. on the horizon, the timing was perfect for a grand celebration with family and friends from around the world. But as the pandemic swept through Florida and beyond, public gatherings-including weddings-were abruptly canceled.

Like so many couples in Saint Pete and Tampa Bay, they were faced with heartbreak and tough decisions. Instead of postponing indefinitely, Jackson and Attiya chose to embrace the moment and pivot to an intimate Saint Pete elopementon the water-a choice that brought new meaning and magic to their union.

Why Choose a Sailboat Elopement in Saint Petersburg?

St. Pete elopements have become a sought-after option for couples seeking privacy, flexibility, and a truly unique experience. A sailboat elopement offers:

  • Unmatched Intimacy: Just you, your partner, and the open water-no distractions, just pure connection.
  • Breathtaking Backdrops: The Gulf’s turquoise waters, golden sunsets, and even playful dolphins create a cinematic setting for your vows.
  • All-Inclusive Packages: Local vendors offer full-service sailboat wedding packages, including coordination, officiant, bouquet, and professional photography-perfect for stress-free planning in Saint Pete and Tampa Bay.
  • Flexibility: Whether you want a sunrise ceremony or a sunset sail, elopement packages can be tailored for any vision or group size.
  • Adventure and Romance: Celebrate your love with the wind in your hair and the city skyline fading into the horizon-an experience you’ll never forget.

The Elopement Day: Heartfelt, Holistic, and Beautifully Saint Pete

On the day of their elopement, Jackson and Attiya exchanged vows aboard a sailboat off the coast of Saint Petersburg. The air was filled with emotion-joy, relief, and a sense of peace that only the sea can provide. Dolphins made a surprise appearance, and the sunset painted the sky in warm, golden hues, as if the universe itself was celebrating with them.

As their Saint Pete elopement photographer, I focused on capturing every raw, candid moment: the quiet anticipation, the tearful vows, the laughter as the boat gently rocked, and the embrace that sealed their new chapter together. The intimacy of the setting allowed for editorial, documentary-style images that truly reflect their journey and resilience.

Dear Attiya and Jackson,

I am terribly sorry for the cards you were dealt, I hope that you love your elopement and that you had an incredible time with me and the team overall. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and only the best in life. I know that this is not the last time we will see or each other or talk. You are one of my rare unfortunate couples who I will never forget because of the situation we were put in. This experience has humbled me to new levels, it has broken me and it’s molding me into a new person. You Attiya, I know the reason why I wanted to do everything I could for you guys was because you remind me so much of my niece Nicole. She has your personality and energy and she looks like mini version of you. She is so calm even when she has every right not to be, she can’t help but just be calm about it. Jackson, what I want to take from you is your ability to just calm people down. Whenever Attiya was about to breakdown, you said and did right things to ease her mind, her body and soul. I want to be more like you man. I want to be able to be more internal calculating and intentional with how I am with people. Thank you guys, I truly am honored to have been able to make this happen for you both. Hopefully I will be able to see you guys before you guys take off to DC. I have never seen two people more into each other, more compassionate for one another and more in love than the both of you, that night. Congratulations and safe travels friends.
